Padang, 7 April 2020. Balai KSDA Sumbar melalui Resort Konservasi Wilayah (RKW) Limapuluh Kota berhasil memburu para penembak burung yang melakukan kegiatan menembak satwa burung di Kawasan Taman Wisata Alam Gunung Sago Malintang.
Penyergapan ini bermula dari laporan masayarakat mitra polhut,bahwa di kawasan TWA Gunung Sago adanya masayarakat yang sering melakukan aktivitas masuk kedalam kawasan dengan tujuan menembak burung, dari laporan tersebut Kepala RKW Limapuluh kota Martias melakukan koordinasi dengan Kepala Seksi Wilayah I KHairi Ramadhan, S.Hut.t, M.SC dan Kepala BKSDA Sumbar Dr. Ir Erly Sukrismanto, M.Sc.
Setelah melakukan koordinasi dengan pimpinan pada tanggal 7 April petugas Resor RKW Limapuluh Kota yang dikomandoi oleh Kepala Resor Martias, SP melakukan penyergapan ke lokasi dan berhasil mengamankan 5 (lima) orang pelaku dengan alat bukti berupa 4 (empat) unit senapan angin, 6 (enam) ekor jenis burung tidak dilindungi. Barang bukti untuk saat ini diamankan dikantor resort, dan para pelaku diperingatkan dan membuat surat pernyataan untuk tidak mengulangi perbuatan yang sama.
